Recipe for Casino Selections - Part 1 - Nevada
With so many casino selections out there for slot players, it's time to start cooking by targeting some favorite casinos of mine, our readers and the choices of slot players worldwide. The fillings for a gourmet casino recipe are many before us, however we must choose carefully.
Of course, the first ingredient for a perfect slots recipe must be the highest payouts including a large cup of 'certified' slots. Newest versions sprinkled about, lots of slot types, comp-slot card club benefits to include that creme-de-la-creme cash-back option, large dollops of customer service, mouth-watering dining, activities and shopping options plus your comfort level as a player/cook are all necessary ingredients for a perfect casino recipe.
I have said many times that the higher payout ingredient can be found in Las Vegas and because all casino gamblers end up in this desert town sooner or later; we will start 'cooking' there.
Las Vegas: Reserve, Sunset Station, Sam's Town, Santa Fe, Orleans, Fiesta, Arizona Charlies and Boulder Station on the outer loops of town. Downtown Fremont Street for Main St. Station, Union Station, El Cortez, Horseshoe and Four Queens. Just off the strip: Gold Coast, Palace Station and Barbary Coast. The Vegas strip, while certainly offering a wide selection of newest versions to compliment the newest hotel/casinos, does not fit in the 'highest payout' category -- choose carefully.
Laughlin: Desert Palms--who now tag the highest payout slot machines, Pioneer, Colorado Belle, Golden Nugget and Ramada.
Reno: Circus Circus, CalNeva, Peppermill, Eldorado and Silver Legacy. Note--the nickel slots in Reno have a higher average payout percentage than Vegas.
Smaller gambling venues sprinkled in our recipe include:
Elko: Red Lion Inn and Commercial Casino, the oldest casino still operating in Nevada -- located 300 miles N.E. of Reno.
Carson City: Carson City Nugget -- located 35 miles south of Reno.
Jean: Gold Strike and Nevada Landing -- located 25 miles S.W. of Las Vegas.
Lake Tahoe: Tahoe Biltmore and Cal-Neva (north shore). Harrah's, Harvey's and Lake Tahoe Horizon (south shore) -- located 60 miles N.E. of Reno.
Mesquite: Rancho Mesquite, Star and Virgin River -- located 80 miles N.E. of Las Vegas.
Primm: Buffalo Bill's, Primm Valley and Whiskey Pete's -- located 25 miles S.W. of Las Vegas.
W. Wendover: Peppermill, Rainbow and Silver Smith for the folks from Utah -- located west of the Utah border.
Now we're cooking! Just how hungry are you?
As slot payout percentages include video poker and video keno, players of those games can use this information for their casino selections also. Highest slot payout percentages from reporting gambling jurisdictions are offered in each issue of the Slots Report, a twice monthly publication.
